So this is what Ralph has up his sleeve...

Tax Yale: In a city where over 50% of the real estate is virtually tax-exempt (not that we're pointing any fingers) and in an economy where there is virtually no state aid, where is the tax money coming from? Why are the "give-aways" going to those who have already gotten away with it? Personally speaking, I think New Haven could find some good ways to spend that money to benefit everyone.

Revitalize New Haven, Not Just Downtown: New Haven is full of beauty and culture, not just in downtown. So why is it when we revitalize New Haven, we forget about Fair Haven, The Hill, Dixwell, Newhallville and the rest of New Haven?

Pay cut: I will personally take a fifty percent pay cut to help the shelters and soup kitchens remain open. No one should starve or freeze in this city. Actually, I'm pretty sure there's room in the basement at City Hall...

THEN, when yale starts paying their fair share, I'll reinstate my fair share.

City without bullies: Corruption and racism has emerged in a number of city offices in the past few years. These are the Mayor's problems. It is imperative that there be an investigation into all offices; anyone found guilty of corruption, racism and/or sexism will prosecuted and/or fired.

Same Job/Same Pay: Man, woman, black, white, hispanic, etc. with the same education and/or experience should earn the same amount for the same job.

Bio-diesel: If we change the school buses to bio-diesel, we can save energy, protect the environment, and improve air quality in New Haven at a very low cost to the community.

Bicycle/Pedestrian Friendly New Haven: I will work with the various agencies and commissions (e.g., the Connecticut Bicycle Coalition and Connecticut Greenways) to help make New Haven more bicycle and pedestrian friendly.

Education: Any system that has students graduating below a twelfth grade level in reading, writing, and/or math level is not good enough. With a prestigious college like Yale in our city, we should be working towards getting more students who can get into Yale. in addition, we should be hiring more teachers, not laying them off.
